U.S. WW2 80th Infantry Division "Blue Ridge Division" shoulder sleeve insignia.
During WW2 the 80th division landed at Utah Beach (Aug 5, 1944). The division was part of General Patton's Third Army and played a key role in the breakthrough at Avranches. The 80th division took part in the Third Army dash across France, cutting through Saint-Mihiel, Châlons, and Commercy in pursuit of the retreating Germans. The division also took part on an attack on the Siegfried Line. The 80th then moved north to Luxembourg and continued fighting at Luxembourg and Bastogne. The 80th also participated in combat during the Battle of the Bulge
